Jacob's Hour Of Code Research.☺
I bet you don’t know what the Hour Of Code is, well it’s when a class has a technology teacher come in. They will teach the students code on a website called http://csedweek.org but first you have to register! Next you choose a tutorial. To learn more read below!
What is the Hour Of Code?
The Hour of Code is a program designed to introduce students to computer science. Computer science jobs are growing three times faster than people graduating with degrees in computer science. Current estimates are there will be one million more computer science jobs than there are people to fill them in 2020. These are good paying jobs! The goal of the Hour of Code is to have ten million students try the Hour of Code tutorials December 9th to the 15th - Computer Science Education Week. There are both computer based and unplugged tutorials! There will be tutorials for kids in kindergarten all the way through eighth grade! There will even be a tutorial that uses Minecraft! |

How Do I Prepare For The Hour Of Code?
One week before the Hour of Code go to: http;//csedweek.org ,to register your class. Then you choose an Hour of Code tutorial for your class. You should try the Hour of Code tutorial yourself, so that if a student is confused you can help them. Actually, regardless if you have a technology teacher you can still do an Hour of Code. You can do an unplugged version too! Always remember coding is fun. Let the coding be with you. † |
Where Do I Start The Hour Of Code?
You can do the Hour of Code at a computer lab or in the classroom. Students can work independently or with partners. Actually, studies show that students working together retain more. The unplugged options can be done anywhere and are designed to show kids you don’t need a computer for computational thinking. |
You can also try the unplugged version. Always remember coding is fun. Let the coding be with you! By:Jacob ☺
